一、教学重点：
　　本课时的教学重点是让学生理解、会读文段内容。
　　能正确理解几个单位词：ton，meter，kg，cm。
　　二、教学难点：
　　1、四会掌握句型以及单位词，如cm，kg的理解和使用。
　　2、进一步理解并朗读一些常见的计量单位。
　　3、本部分知识含量大，涉及很多自然科学知识，需要帮助学生充分理解。
　　三、课前准备：
　　教师准备录音机，或资源中心课件。
　　教学过程(本文来自优秀教育资源网淘.教.案.网)中所需的图片、录音、课件、动画素材。
　　有关鲸鱼的知识。

　　1、Warm up  (热身)
　　活动一：Sing the song
　　教学参考时间：1-2分钟
　　师播放课件，请学生欣赏歌曲。Let’s enjoy the song.
　　学生跟唱歌曲。Please sing together。
　　教师请学生唱自己改编的歌曲，大家一起欣赏。
　　活动二：Make sentences 
　　教学参考时间：3-4分钟
　　(1) 教师播放课件：画面中随机出现学过的形容词原形：fat   thin   strong   young   cool   warm   cold   hot   cheap   big   small   long   short   smart   
　　学生分为两组，第一组学生看到单词后用这个词说一句话，第二组学生用这个词的比较级说一句话。如：big：My bag is big. / The desk is bigger. …
　　画面中出现第二个词后，两组交换。
　　每说对一句话，加十分；说错不加分。最后看哪组成绩高，为胜。
　　2、Review  (复习)
　　活动三：let’s check 
　　教学参考时间：4-5分钟
　　学生自己阅读画面，描述画面，进行预测。Please look at the pictures carefully, and try to describe the pictures in English.  e.g: The girl is eating a small apple.
　　教师播放课件，学生选择正确的图画。Listen to the computer and try to find out the picture.
　　教师点击课件中的答案，订正正确答案。Let’s check up the answer.
　　3、Presentation  (新课呈现)
　　活动四：Let’s read
　　教学参考时间：9-10分钟
　　教师请学生汇报上节课探究活动的成果：学生将找到的有关鲸鱼的资料进行汇报交流。
　　教师提问：Today, let’s get to know two kinds of whales, sperm whales and killer whales. How long are they? How heavy are they? …
　　学生阅读文段，寻找答案。Let’s read and answer.
　　了解学生不懂的地方，教师给予必要的帮助。Which point you don’t understand?
　　教师播放课件，学生跟读。Please read after it.
　　教师再次播放课件，教师指导朗读，尤其是ton，meter，kg，cm等计量单位的词汇。 Let’s read it again. Please pay attention to these words: ton，meter，kg，cm.
　　学生再次独立或两人一组阅读文段回答教师提问。Please read it again.
　　问题：Answer my questions, please.
　　How many teeth do they have, do you know?
　　How long is each tooth?

　　What does a sperm whale eat?
　　What does a killer whale eat?
　　What can they do?

　　请有能力的学生用自己的话向大家介绍一下抹香鲸或虎鲸。Who would introduce the whale to the class?
　　4、Let’s play  ( 趣味操练 )
　　活动五：Match and say
　　教学参考时间：5-6分钟
　　学生将人物与小鱼连线。Please draw a line between the children and the fish.
　　学生试着进行描述。Try to tell us.
　　教师播放课件，进行示范，学生跟读。Listen and repeat.
　　学生在小组间进行练习。Practice in pairs, please.
　　5、Consolidation and extension
　　活动六：Exercises
　　教学参考时间：4-5分钟
　　教师点击课件，或出示P6第5题，请学生自己阅读。Read the article by yourself.
　　教师播放课件录音，学生判断。Read and tick or cross.
　　教师点击课件，和学生一起订正练习答案。Check the answers.
　　请有能力的学生根据听到的内容进行复述，进一步检验学生的理解程度。Who would like to retell it?
　　教师再次播放课件，学生跟读。Please listen and repeat.
　　活动七：Challenge
　　教学参考时间：7-8分钟
　　教师讲解题目要求。
　　学生独立完成练习。
　　教师订正答案或将学生练习收上来。

　　教学参考时间：1-2分钟
　　教师请学生总结本课学到的内容。
　　学生讨论总结。
　　教师板书，学生朗读。
